About Sebastian Luxe Travel
I’m Kate, founder of Sebastian Luxe Travel. I believe a great trip can do more than take you somewhere new. It can bring you back to yourself. I plan travel the way I try to live: with intention, curiosity, and a sense of balance between beauty and ease.
My love of travel began as a teenager in Paris, where I learned that the right café can change your mood and that wandering with no plan can be its own kind of luxury. I went back at 15, then again at 17, and later spent a year living in Aix-en-Provence. Europe became my compass, and I’ve been following it ever since, from vineyards in France to temples in Thailand, from snow-covered Swiss slopes to quiet streets in Bali.
Before I started planning travel professionally, I worked as an ER nurse. That experience taught me to stay calm under pressure, notice what people need, and believe deeply in the connection between movement, rest, and health. I see travel as an extension of that. It can ground you when life feels uncertain, help you feel unstuck, deepen your relationships, and revive you when you need it most.
A surf trip to the Dominican Republic changed everything again when I met my Dutch husband. We now live in Westport, Connecticut with our son, Sebastian.
Over time, friends started asking me to plan their trips “the way you would do it.” Eventually someone said, “You’re better than my travel advisor.” That was the start of Sebastian Luxe Travel, born from the idea that good travel should feel as nourishing as it is beautiful.
